








The Brighton Drum School was established as an industry connected drum school by Pat Garvey in 2010 to provide access to the very best in 1:1 learning and support, in person and online, for all ages and levels, as well as professional mentoring, coaching, career guidance and support, and consultation services.
Past & present students include some that are playing and working with some of the most reconisable names in the world, including Rag n’ Bone Man, Soul Wax, Central Cee, The Darkness, Billy Ocean/Tricky, Queen & Adam Lambert, Two Door Cinema Club, Leona Lewis, Hotwax, Incognito, The Subways, Lawson, Vader, Charlie XCX, Ines Rae, Decapitated, Nathan Dawe, James Marriot, & Charlie Sloth amongst numerous others.
15 years on from its inception and with students coming from all over the UK and wider world, The Brighton Drum School has established itself as one of the leading places to study drums in the UK and for anyone to access professional mentoring, coaching, career guidance and support on a 1:1 basis, in-person and online.

Pat was invited to teach at BIMM University in 2008. He was quickly offered the Deputy Head of Department for Drums role and in 2010 was offered the role of Head of Department for Drums & Percussion. In that time he's led a department of highly esteemed player-educators including Steve White, Preston Prince, Jack Pollitt, Phil Gould, the late Martin France, Ben Thomas, Stu Roberts & Vinnie Lammi amongst numerous other highly respected player-educators.
During his time at BIMM University Pat has also led on module development, course design, digital learning resource development, and also lectures in personal and professional development, popular music history, and music theory.

Founded in 2001 by industry legend George Frederick (Pearl Drums, Premier Drums, Natal Drums), & co-hosted by the great Steve White, the Freddie Gee Drum Academy has been running for 25 years and has become a world-renowned week long residential drumming event with a week of lessons, masterclasses, drum hangs, and the infamous mid-week barbecue. Pat was invited to teach at FGDA in 2018 & has been invited back each year since then to teach for the full week alongside Steve White, Craig Blundell & Gregg Bissonette, & guests like Andy Gangadeen, Neal Wilkinson, Pete Cater, Eddy Thower, Chris 'Woody' Wood, Ben Thomas, & Spike Smith.
Pat has also worked on educational projects, given talks, guest lecturers and masterclasses with or in conjunction with the organisations below amongst numerous others.
